Job Summary
Produce newscasts for broadcast across all platforms by writing and ordering news stories, approving scripts, and balancing content to create compelling broadcasts. Edit video, write stories for the website and eMedia platforms, and interact with viewers on social media sites. Conduct research, arrange interviews, and pitch stories to news managers while ensuring all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, minimum two years' experience in news operations, and fluency in English. Competitive hourly compensation of $30-$35 with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. Onsite role in the Washington, DC Market.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum two years' experience in news operations
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift
