Job Summary
Remote editor to pitch and write timely news content for Better Homes & Gardens (BHG.com) and manage updates in a CMS. Responsibilities include researching, revising, updating, and rewriting copy per brand guidelines; writing timely content for publication; and maintaining brand voice. Requires 2+ years in home or lifestyle media writing/editing, strong writing/editing skills, ability to work independently from a remote setup, and morning availability in the Eastern or Central Time Zone. The role is part of an assignment with People Inc. as the staffing agency employer; compensation is $25-28 per hour for 15-20 hours per week, with US residency required.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years experience writing or editing home or lifestyle media, preferably for a news publication or magazine
- Comfortable with internet research and creating/tracking Google alerts
- Journalism experience strongly preferred
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to adopt an established brand voice and adhere to style guidelines
- Comfortable working remotely
- Access to a smartphone, computer (not a tablet), and a secure internet connection
