Job Summary
Live in THE News at Daybreak from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. every weekday and conduct live hits for THE News NOW at 7 a.m. Develop and pitch engaging stories and live shots for the morning broadcast, then shoot, write, and edit scripts and video for the following day. Post liveshot information to WTOC social media platforms and the website before 5 a.m. daily, leaving behind a looklive story based on morning coverage. Requires a college degree in journalism or communications, two years of newsroom experience, strong on-camera presence, and a clean driving record. Based in Savannah, GA, with a full-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- College degree in journalism or communications
- Two years of experience in a newsroom
- Strong on-camera presence and energy
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adjust to breaking news
- Good grasp of time management
- Understanding of digital and social platforms
- Clean driving record
