Job Summary
Cover breaking news on-air and in digital content while developing compelling stories for broadcast and online assets. Anchor newscasts and produce multi-media content across web and social platforms. Report live from the scene using a smartphone and vehicle, ensuring accurate, timely delivery of local news. Manage on-air and digital production with a high-energy, curious mindset to meet strict deadlines. Requires valid driver's license, recent motor vehicle record check, and proof of insurance if using personal vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- High energy, passionate approach
- Journalistic writing skills
- Simple digital video and editing skills
- Anchoring on-air newscasts
- Understand that accurate reporting and speed to market is critical
- Must be mobile to cover news on the scene and in the field
- Existing cell phone service and recent edition smartphone
- A vision for excellence
- A valid driver's license
- Satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check
- Proof of insurance (if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle)
Desired Qualifications
- 2 or more years experience covering breaking news
- Experience producing original news stories for media using audio and digital assets
- Produce content on multi-media platforms including web and social media sites
