Job Summary
Produce live newscasts daily by selecting stories, determining story order, and writing broadcast and digital scripts. Communicate with anchors, the assignment desk, reporters, photographers, and editors to ensure high-quality execution. Handle planning, production, and occasional digital responsibilities while meeting tight deadlines as a self-starter. This role requires excellent news judgment, writing skills, and showcasing abilities for viewers. Join WECT, the dominant broadcast station in the Wilmington market, serving New Hanour, Brunswick, and surrounding counties for over 70 years.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work at a high level under tight deadlines
- Scheduling flexibility
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent writing, showcasing, communication, and time management skills

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
- Experience as a producer preferred, but not required
- ENPS experience/knowledge preferred, but not required
