Job Summary
Use editorial judgment to shape fast-paced, high-impact newscasts by working closely with reporters and managers on building original shows. Keep a close eye on social media to spot trends, find fresh angles, and highlight stories people are talking about. Get creative with visuals like graphics, viewer photos, and webcam interviews to bring stories to life. Write for all platforms from web to social, interview subjects to ensure accuracy, and pitch in on live breaking news and special coverage. Follow up on tips, chase leads, and make smart, fast decisions under pressure while editing video for broadcast and digital. Adhere to journalistic and legal guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- minimum of one year of experience in a newsroom
- willing to work weekends, holidays, and overnights when needed
- not for a beginner
