Job Summary
Produce daily newscast items, decide story order, write teases, time programs, edit video, and post content to the website. Write and order news stories, approve scripts, and balance news with feature content for compelling broadcasts. Create stories for website and eMedia platforms while interacting with viewers on social media sites. Perform other duties as assigned. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, fluency in English, and two years' experience in news operations. Candidates must meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work any shift. Nexstar Media Group produces and distributes local and national news, sports, and entertainment content across television and digital platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum two years' experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift
