Job Summary
Manage daily editorial operations, assignments, and story production for the NYC bureau by identifying, pitching, and overseeing the full production cycle of news packages from research to delivery. Monitor breaking news to respond swiftly with appropriate editorial decisions, secure exclusive interviews, and translate soundbites between English and Spanish. Establish relationships with local officials and newsmakers while ensuring content meets network standards and legal guidelines. Collaborate with reporters, leadership, and the Miami assignment desk to coordinate coverage across platforms. Maintain flexibility for weekends, early mornings, and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Strong editorial and writing skills
- Proven experience producing broadcast news content in a fast-paced newsroom
- Fully bilingual in Spanish and English, with professional proficiency in both languages
- Proficiency in digital tools, news monitoring platforms, and social media strategies
- Technologically savvy, with the ability to leverage newsroom systems and visual storytelling tools
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of news writing experience
- Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
- Minimum 1 year of working experience with iNews
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
