Job Summary
Overnight News Producer for FOX 7 Austin Morning Show (shift 11:00 PM–8:00 AM). Responsible for the overnight development, preparation, and production of content for early-morning newscasts, identifying breaking news, developing enterprise and follow-up stories, and preparing content that informs and engages viewers as they start their day. Must be creative, energetic, with strong writing, well informed, and willing to take risks. Collaborate with newsroom staff to ensure the strongest possible start to the broadcast day, writing and managing content for shows, including rundowns, scripts, teases, and transitions; coordinate with assignment desk, reporters, and photographers; build graphics; provide content for web and social platforms; ensure deadlines and adherence to legal/ethical standards; and participate in editorial meetings. Experience managing iNews/BitCentral workflows and a commitment to journalistic standards is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in journalism/related field
- Minimum of three years equivalent experience preferred
