Job Summary
Anchor assigned newscasts, report and MMJ in the field by pitching and executing enterprise stories, and find creative, engaging, and visually compelling ways to present news. Report Live in the Field as needed and contribute content across all KOTA digital platforms. Assist in producing and appearing on KOTA streaming content, including live coverage, breaking news updates, and digital-first shows. This role requires a newsroom leader with solid news judgment who can juggle multiple tasks and adjust to a constantly changing environment while remaining calm under deadline pressure. The position is based at KOTA/KEVN in Rapid City, South Dakota, within Gray Media's portfolio of top-rated local television stations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, or related field
- Videography and non-linear editing experience
- Ability to write, shoot, and edit attention-grabbing news content
- Excellent on-air presentation and communication skills
- A demo reel of your best work
- KOTA/KEVN-TV/Gray Media is a drug-free company
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with newsroom software, including ENPS and Edius
