Job Summary
Perform hearing screens on newborns post-birth, evaluating patient readiness and collecting demographic data before conducting services. Provide parent education on hearing screen relevance and early intervention, while ensuring documentation protocols and state reporting are completed by shift end. Notify supervisors of missed or final refer cases and schedule outpatient appointments where appropriate. Comply with facility policies, PPE, and vaccination requirements while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity during interactions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer
- Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift)
- Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently
- Demonstrate sensitivity when speaking to family and when handling patients
- Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry
Desired Qualifications
- One to three months of previous experience with newborns and in a medical setting
