Job Summary
Perform hearing screens on newborns in hospital settings after birth, evaluating patient readiness and collecting demographic data. Provide education to parents regarding the necessity of screening and early intervention, ensuring documentation protocols are followed for every case. Upload results, billing, and state reporting by shift end while notifying supervisors of missed or referred babies. Schedule outpatient appointments for referred infants and comply with all safety protocols, vaccinations, and hospital orientations. Maintain confidentiality and treat families with care during this critical developmental milestone.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer
- Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift)
- Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently
- Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry
Desired Qualifications
- One to three months of previous experience with newborns and in a medical setting
