Job Summary
Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital settings, evaluating patient readiness and collecting demographic data before administering tests. Educate parents on the necessity of screening and early intervention, then upload results and billing data by shift end. Notify supervisors of missed or referred babies and schedule outpatient appointments where appropriate. Adhere to all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and compliance modules while maintaining patient confidentiality. Maintain high standards of care and efficiency during the shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer
- Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift)
- Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently
- Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry
Desired Qualifications
- One to three months of previous experience with newborns and in a medical setting
