Job Summary
Lead the transition of products from design to prototyping and low-volume manufacturing by developing production plans, setting up workstations, and authoring detailed work instructions for optical communication gimballed telescopes. Oversee a team of laboratory technicians to resolve roadblocks, ensure quality system compliance, and monitor cost and schedule performance while consulting engineering leads on non-compliances. Collaborate with program managers and cross-functional teams to coordinate activities across build, unit test, design engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance for US Government applications. Requires a BA/BS in a technical discipline, five years of manufacturing experience, and proficiency in Infor LN and SolidWorks.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and mentor lower-level professionals
- Must be a US person
- BA/BS degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a manufacturing engineer or in a related role
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with gimbal technologies including brushless motor, optical encoders, and precision bearings
- Prior experience with free-space optical systems which include precisely aligned lenses and mirrors
- Proficiency in using optical and electrical measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and optical metrology equipment
- Skilled in analyzing and interpreting data from these instruments
- Advanced proficiency in Infor LN
- Proficient use of mechanical computer-aided design software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Proficient use of lab automation software
