Job Summary
Lead thermal validation and equipment buyoff for Direct-to-Chip and rack-level cooling systems, auditing vendor portfolios and qualifying second sources for high-precision manufacturing tools. Establish North Star metrics for thermal performance, define TIM application standards to prevent pump-out, and lead technical reviews for EVT/DVT/PVT milestones. Design thermal test vehicles and assembly fixtures for contract manufacturers while executing long-term reliability plans including accelerated life testing and thermal shock profiles. Own mechanical interfaces between ASICs and cold plates, ensuring mounting forces remain within specification across multiple projects.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in Hardware Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Thermal Reliability with a focus on NPI
- Proven experience in determining, qualifying, and buying off high-precision manufacturing equipment for liquid-cooled or high-power electronics
- Experience holding 'Ship/No-Ship' authority in a high-stakes hardware environment
- Expert understanding of Direct-to-Chip cooling (Cold plates, Manifolds, QDs) and the mechanics of Thermal Interface Materials
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Science, or a related field
