Job Summary
Set up and prepare Haas CNC machines for new product manufacturing, proving out fixtures and validating CNC programs to ensure proper function and repeatability. Collaborate with Engineering, Programming, Tooling, and Manufacturing teams to optimize machining processes and resolve tooling or programming issues before production release. Operate and adjust machines until parts conform with specifications, perform first-piece inspections, and train assigned operators upon completion of the first article of verification. Maintain accurate setup documentation, support continuous improvement initiatives, and report significant variances in job standards or cycle times to the NPD Manager.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC setup experience with Haas CNC machines
- Experience proving out new fixtures and CNC programs
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
- Strong understanding of cutting tools, work holding, machining processes and vacuum fixtures
- Experience with first article inspections and process validation
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Required to wear safety glasses
- Required to wear hearing protection
- Required to wear safety shoes
