Job Summary
Conduct thorough market research to identify and qualify inbound leads against the ideal customer profile, maintaining accurate data in the CRM system. Design, execute, and monitor outbound campaigns including cold calling and email marketing, while analyzing key performance metrics to prepare regular reports on conversion rates and engagement. Collaborate with the customer VP to develop tailored proposals and facilitate prospect meetings, including research, presentation building, and follow-ups. Work independently to manage multi-customer partnership opportunities and build rapport with prospects and executives. Requires 5 years in CPG sales, direct Kroger experience, and 10-15 nights of annual travel. Based in the Cincinnati area.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in CPG sales, account management, or business development
- Direct experience working with Kroger
- Strong understanding of the CPG/grocery industry landscape
- Based in the Cincinnati area
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (HubSpot) and reporting/dashboard tools
- Strong attention to data accuracy and record integrity
- Market research skills, including the ability to identify and qualify leads against an ideal customer profile
- Ability to analyze campaign performance data (conversion rates, response rates, engagement) and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Strong written communication skills — clear, concise, and audience-appropriate, whether writing to peers, vendors, supervisors, or customers
- Strong oral communication and presentation skills, including cold calling, cold emailing, and one-on-one or small-group presentations
- Interpersonal skills, including relationship-building and conflict resolution, with the ability to maintain positive working relationships across peers, management, suppliers, and other departments
- Ability to build rapport and credibility with prospects, department heads, and executives, and to communicate confidently at executive levels
- Ability to tailor messaging and proposals to different prospect types, needs, and objectives
- Ability to work independently, self-manage, and take initiative on lead generation strategy
- Time management and prioritization across multiple initiatives, campaigns, and markets
- Assertive, results-oriented self-starter
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Sufficient mobility to move around the office
- Ability to use hands for grasping files, papers, notebooks, writing implements, etc.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read documents on paper and on the computer
- Sitting at a desk for up to 8 hours at a time
- May lift up to 20 lbs
- 10-15 nights of travel per year
