Job Summary
Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care while identifying resident needs to develop and maintain appropriate care plans. Ensure timely admissions and manage the supply, control, and safe keeping of drugs and narcotics following assigned protocols. Apply sound nursing practice principles, geriatric care knowledge, and familiarity with the Nursing Home Act, Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, and Food & Drug Act. This 6-month full-time contract in Osoyoos offers a competitive compensation package for candidates with current registration as an LPN with the College of Nurses BC.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Current certificate of registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC
- Diploma in Practical Nursing
- Sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Nursing Home Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act
- Knowledge of the Food & Drug Act
