Job Summary
RN Resident coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers and care team. Responsibilities include assessing patient condition on admission and each shift, performing procedures and monitoring as ordered, administering prescribed medications and monitoring therapeutic responses, and promptly addressing patient needs. The role also encompasses teaching patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for complete understanding. The residency provides advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, skills evaluation through simulations, mentoring from experienced nurse leaders, and involvement in an evidence-based practice project.
Required Qualifications
- NCLEX passed
- Kansas nursing license or graduate nurse in state
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- No previous experience required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment
