Job Summary
The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department requirements and nursing practice standards. As part of the HCA Nurse Residency Program, the role provides a funded, year-long transition from student nurse to registered nurse with hands-on experience, advanced clinical training in a specialty area, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship with a facility preceptor, hands-on simulations, mentoring from experienced nurse leaders, and an evidence-based practice project. Responsibilities include assessing patient condition during admission and shifts, performing procedures and medication administration as ordered, documenting care in the medical record, monitoring therapeutic responses, responding promptly to patient requests, and educating patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up measures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
- No previous experience needed
- Some travel maybe needed for training
