Job Summary
RN Resident in the HCA Nurse Residency Program provides hands-on clinical training across Med Surg specialties at multiple Texas campuses, including Georgetown, St. David's Medical Center, and others. The year-long program includes advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship with a facility preceptor, hands-on simulations, mentoring from experienced nurse leaders, and an evidence-based practice project. Unit responsibilities include assessing patient condition on admission and during shifts, performing procedures and medication administration, documenting care, educating patients and families about conditions and treatments, and advocating for patients to ensure an exceptional patient experience. Qualifications include BLS within 30 days, ACLS within 1 year, RN license or Graduate Nurse status, and either an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; some travel may be required for training.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
- Other Certifications may be required during employment
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
- No previous experience needed
- Some travel may be needed for training
