Job Summary
Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) for assigned patients using evidence-based practice and critical thinking. Provide patient- and family-centered care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, preceptors, and unit leaders to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. Complete mandatory education, competency assessments, and documentation requirements under direct supervision. Participate in performance improvement activities, research utilization, and protocol development to support system goals. Begin the 12-month Nurse Residency Program starting late 2026 at the new Wellstar location in Columbia County.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing Diploma or Bachelor's degree from an accredited program
- BLS - Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor certification
- RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact license
- Less than 1 year of RN experience
- Ability to read, write and speak English language
- Basic computer skills to optimize the use of technology to support clinical care
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed and respectful manner
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team
- Computer/data entry experience
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and have basic computer operational knowledge
- Ability to use Epic and 3M
Desired Qualifications
- Epic and 3M experience preferred
