New Graduate Nurse at Progress West Hospital

The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care after completing a nursing program and before licensure. Will be required to obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation from an accredited school of nursing to remain employed in a health system in the state of Missouri. Responsibilities include educating patients and families on managing illness or injury and post-treatment home care needs, applying critical thinking to assess patients' physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans with the healthcare team, evaluating patient responses, and modifying plans as needed. Participates in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance and engages in professional development. This is a safety-sensitive position. Minimum requirements include a Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree in nursing. Preferred qualifications emphasize readiness for nurse residency and ongoing learning within BJC HealthCare hospitals and affiliated facilities.
