Job Summary
Direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of nursing care after completing a nursing program and before licensure. Will be required to obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation from an accredited school of nursing to remain employed in a health system in Missouri. Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post-treatment home care and medication administration. Applies critical thinking to assess and address patients’ physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs. Develops and implements care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, promoting patient- and family-centered care. Evaluates patient responses and adjusts plans throughout the stay. Participates in activities that support patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and engages in ongoing professional development. This is a safety-sensitive role requiring sustained alertness and safe practice.
