New Grad RN Residency

The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department’s scope of practice, under the nurse residency program. The role includes advanced clinical training in a specialty area, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training with a facility preceptor, hands-on simulations, mentoring from experienced nurse leaders, and collaboration on an evidence-based practice project. Responsibilities include assessing patient condition on admission and during shifts, performing procedures and medication administration, documenting care, responding to patient needs, teaching patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications and follow-up measures, and translating complex medical terminology for understanding.
