Job Summary
RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department's scope and standards, supporting new graduates through the StaRN Residency Program with advanced clinical training in Medical Surgical, Progressive Care/Step-Down, ICU, and Emergency Services. The role includes hands-on learning, preceptorship, simulations, mentoring from nurse leaders, and collaboration on an evidence-based practice project. Responsibilities cover assessing patient condition at admissions and shifts, performing procedures and medication administration, documenting care, teaching patients and families, and ensuring timely communication with providers. Qualifications include BLS and ACLS timelines, Florida RN license (or compact with relocation window), and a nursing degree (Associate or Bachelor’s). The program emphasizes growth, learning, and transitioning from student nurse to registered nurse with potential for travel training.
Required Qualifications
- BLS-AHA Provider issued card within 30 days of start
- ACLS obtained within 1 year of employment
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required; Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation
- No previous experience needed
- Some travel maybe needed for training
