Job Summary
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adults with complex medical conditions, monitoring vital signs, neurological status, and respiratory function while administering medications and interventions with strong clinical judgment. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized care plans, educate patients and families on treatment needs, and document assessments accurately in the electronic medical record. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to uphold patient safety standards within the Medical Progressive Care Unit. This new graduate role supports Mercy's mission of service, dignity, and excellence in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in medical progressive care, medical‐surgical, telemetry, or other progressive/acute care settings
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtained within a specified timeframe)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (if applicable to patient population or unit protocols)
