Job Summary
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at HCA HealthONE Aurora is a year-long paid program to transition student nurses to registered nurses, featuring hands-on clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship with a facility preceptor, skills assessment via simulations, mentoring from nurse leaders, and collaborative evidence-based practice projects across units (e.g., Neuro Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac Care, Special Care Unit, Psych, PCU). Responsibilities include assessing patient condition on admission and each shift, performing procedures and medication administration, documenting care, responding to patient needs, and educating patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up steps. Qualifications include BLS and ACLS within specified timeframes, an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, RN license or Graduate Nurse status in the state, no prior experience required, and potential travel for training.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
- No previous experience needed
