Job Summary

Perform diagnostic imaging exams using specialized equipment to assist in patient diagnosis and care. Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to deliver accurate, high-quality imaging while providing excellent patient care. Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency, ensure proper patient identification, and verify orders before preparing patients. Review images for quality and clarity, adhere to radiation safety guidelines, and complete studies within acceptable timeframes. Assist and instruct students, provide patient education, follow infection control standards, and accurately document procedures and adverse reactions. Operate imaging equipment to ensure optimal image quality and follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, and quality control. Work independently in a supportive, team-based environment with flexible PRN scheduling.

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT or modality-specific competency
  • Current Radiologic Technologist license in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
  • Knowledge of anatomy

  • Physical ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Physical ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment up to and including heavy items
  • Physical ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
  • Physical ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately

Desired Qualifications

  • May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform MA functions in a clinic or InstaCare setting
