Job Summary
Perform diagnostic imaging exams using specialized equipment to assist in patient diagnosis and care while collaborating with radiologists and physicians. Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency, ensure proper patient identification, and operate imaging systems to review images for quality and accuracy. Adhere to radiation safety and infection control standards, provide patient education, and document procedures accurately. Assist students and colleagues in exam procedures, follow medical necessity and coding protocols, and respond to emergency situations. Requires current Radiologic Technologist license, BLS certification, and ability to lift heavy items and navigate busy rooms. Flexible PRN scheduling available with pay ranging from $29.14 to $44.94 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification
- Current Radiologic Technologist license in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Knowledge of anatomy

- ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions
- Ensure proper patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for exams
- Perform imaging exams according to department protocols; review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
- Complete studies within acceptable timeframes without compromising patient care or quality
- Assist and instruct students and other Radiology Technologists in exam procedures, positioning, and equipment use
- Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address questions or concerns
- Follow infection control standards and sterile technique practices
- Operate imaging equipment and related systems to ensure optimal image quality
- Accurately document patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions
- Follow protocols related to medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control programs, and reporting equipment failures
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform MA functions in a clinic or InstaCare setting
