New Grad Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Nursing Unit

Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practice. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families to develop individualized care plans and coordinate patient delivery. Reassess care needs and adjust plans as indicated. Maintain professionalism by adhering to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards while providing accurate documentation. Perform nursing fundamentals, coordinate care, and manage resources effectively. Requires current RN license, BSN degree, and BLS certification. Three 12-hour shifts Monday through Friday with variable days.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items
- Ability to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Ability to effectively use computer and type for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Ability to set priorities and to coordinate and organize patient care delivery through effectively managing time, supplies, and resources
- Ability to provide or delegate care consistent with plan of care, guidelines of care and professional licensure provisions

- Ability to comply with regulatory standards
- Ability to practice within scope of licensure

- Must be available for three 12-hour shifts per week
- Must be available Monday through Friday
- Must be available for variable shift days (not set to specific weekdays)
- Must not be required to work holiday shifts
