Job Summary
Coordinate patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of your license across multiple inpatient acute care units, including spinal cord injury, medically complex, pediatrics, and ortho trauma. Develop and follow patient-centered plans of care through careful assessment and interdisciplinary collaboration, while delegating tasks to non-licensed staff. Promote patient safety by identifying and reporting unexpected events or near misses, and contribute to quality improvement through data collection and documentation audits. Demonstrate excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, ensuring cultural and religious needs are integrated into care plans.
Required Qualifications
- Registered nurse in the state of Michigan
- Associate's degree in nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, delegation, and leadership skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work effectively under time requirements and deadlines
- Problem-solving ability when facing unexpected issues
- Ability to handle interruptions
- Ability to prioritize effectively
- Must be able to understand and follow department policies related to employee safety
- Competence with computer systems for the purpose of documenting patient care
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Certification as a Registered Rehabilitation Nurse
- Previous experience as a RN, especially in a rehabilitation or acute care setting
