Job Summary

Remote Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist handles low-complexity workers’ compensation claims under supervision, verifies policy coverage, determines validity and compensability, establishes reserves and authorizes payments within reserving authority limits, manages non-complex lost-time claims, communicates claim status with customers, claimants and clients, adheres to guidelines, and supports other claims professionals with more complex or problematic claims. Requires excellent written and verbal communication, rapid learning for claims practice, problem identification and solving, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel), strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work independently and in a team, and a bachelor’s degree or related experience with a workers’ compensation license/certification maintained throughout employment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and related experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of industry experience and claims management preferred
  • Current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation must be maintained throughout employment with CorVel
