New Construction Solar Field Technician

Job Summary
Commission PV systems within one week of installation, troubleshoot system operation, and perform customer service appointments while communicating system status. Conduct solar inspections with AHJs and utilities, including setting up ladders for roof and attic access, and provide interconnection team documents for utility applications. Track installations, schedule commissioning, and update all commissioning records with required photos. Submit weekly reports on attempted and successful commissions, provide feedback to Superintendent on installation issues, and maintain truck stock levels. Turn in timecards with accurate input and monitor daily activities to ensure all tasks are met.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in residential roof top solar installation
- Must be organized to manage daily activities and travel routes
- Experience working and troubleshooting solar product as well as installations
- Ability to conduct quality audit of solar installation
- Electrical and safety experience
- Communication skills with internal and external customers
- Ability to set up extension ladder on single story or two-story home and work on roof top to troubleshoot as needed
- Able to read and understand solar layouts and SLDs
- Ability to be self-driven and work independently
- Knowledge of construction preferably new home production building
- Basic computer/iPad knowledge
- Enphase/SolarEdge knowledge
