Job Summary
New Construction Senior Estimator based in Charlotte, NC office. Responsibilities include project bidding, reviewing specs/drawings, attending pre-bid meetings, conducting site visits, submitting RFIs/substitution requests, evaluating quotes, producing take-offs and complete estimates, maintaining CRM, building GC/customer relationships, and supporting pre-construction budgeting and value engineering. Mentors junior estimators and collaborates across departments. Requires high school diploma or GED, 3+ years estimating experience (5+ preferred), strong roofing knowledge, familiarity with NRCA/SMACNA/building codes, and proficiency in Office, EDGE, Salesforce, Bluebeam; plan/spec reading; strong communication and leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 3 years of estimating experience, 5+ years preferred
- Commercial roofing knowledge (low-slope roofing systems: single-ply, modified bitumen) and working knowledge of sheet metal, wall panels, shingles, Hydrotech systems
- Familiarity with NRCA, SMACNA, building codes, and BRC field practices
- Software proficiency: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), EDGE estimating software, Salesforce, Bluebeam, Plan and spec reading
- Excellent written and verbal communication; detail-oriented; strong organizational skills
- Ability to lead, teach, and train others; customer-service mindset; effective presentations
- Office-based with occasional site visits; driving required; occasional travel
