Job Summary
Cloud Architect specializing in multi-cloud integration to guide teams in designing, evaluating, and implementing solutions across AWS, Azure, and other commercial cloud environments. You’ll leverage deep understanding of native cloud services—compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, and data pipelines—to help teams select and combine the right tools for each mission while balancing cost, complexity, and compliance. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to architect resilient systems that perform across clouds, create reusable infrastructure-as-code templates (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep), and mentor teams building or migrating workloads. Document architectures and share best practices to strengthen organizational cloud fluency and consistency. Nice-to-haves include relevant certifications, hybrid/federated cloud design experience, and familiarity with DevOps pipelines and container orchestration. 12 years of experience and a B.S. degree are indicated as a requirement, with location in Columbia, MD, and 100% on-site work.
Required Qualifications
- Solid grasp of computer networking protocols and principles
- Experience architecting solutions across multiple commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of native cloud services for compute, networking, identity, and storage
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, etc.)
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and cost management tools across multiple clouds
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Past experience working with and understanding of the CNO mission
