Job Summary
Inpatient Neurosurgery Physician Assistant to support Neurosurgeons in both outpatient and inpatient settings with a strong focus on surgical cases. Provide comprehensive medical services under physician supervision, including patient histories and physicals, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, managing conditions, and prescribing medication. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, facilitate clear communication, and ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Apply evidence-based medicine to improve patient outcomes, serve as a clinical resource and mentor to other staff and students, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Ensure all clinical activities are documented accurately and adhere to policies and professional standards. Weekend and holiday work is required.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education
- Physician Assistant License
- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms
