Job Summary
Inpatient Neurosurgery Physician Assistant to support Neurosurgeons in both the outpatient and inpatient setting at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey, with a strong focus on surgical cases. Provide comprehensive medical services under physician supervision, including patient histories and physicals, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, managing conditions, and prescribing medications. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, facilitate clear communication, and ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Apply evidence-based medicine to improve patient outcomes, mentor staff and students, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Ensure all clinical activities are documented accurately and adhere to Hackensack Meridian Health policies and professional standards. Weekend and holiday coverage is required.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education
- Physician Assistant License
- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms
