Job Summary
Coordinate neurosurgical patient care across the continuum, managing transitions, pre-operative preparation, discharge planning, and post-treatment follow-up. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families, providing education, emotional support, and care coordination with providers and community resources. Collect, abstract, review, and submit clinical data for ACS NSQIP participation, ensuring accurate entry into databases and supporting quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to identify barriers to care and reduce avoidable complications. Split duties between Navigator and Surgical Clinical Reviewer responsibilities, with allocation shifting based on organizational priorities and program requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year college (Bachelor's Degree)
- State of Maine License for Registered Nurses (Or Compact State)
- 3 – 5 years
- BLS within 30 days of employment
- Ability to complete ACS NSQIP SCR training and certification requirements within 60-90 days of hire
