Job Summary
The Neuroscience Technician II performs intermediate to advanced neurodiagnostic testing across inpatient, critical care, and outpatient settings, preparing patients and applying electrodes for neurodiagnostic procedures, operating EEG and related equipment, collecting accurate patient histories, and communicating with physicians and nursing staff. Responsibilities include routine and continuous EEG monitoring, ensuring signal quality and patient safety, mentoring Neuroscience Technician I, maintaining equipment, transporting patients as needed, and supporting quality assurance and process improvements. Requires independent work with minimal supervision and adherence to standards; licenses include BCLS and EEG-R within 12–18 months of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Neurodiagnostic Technology program or equivalent formal training required
- 2-4 years of experience performing EEG or neurodiagnostic testing in a clinical setting required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
- EEG-R - Electroencephalographic Technician Registration within 12–18 months of hire required
