Job Summary
Develop protocols and best practice guidelines for stroke patient treatment while reviewing admissions for adherence. Implement these protocols across the continuum of care and collaborate with medical directors, EMS, and the case facilitator to ensure optimal continuity from pre-hospital through discharge. Coordinate meetings, lead discussions in the Medical Director's absence, and drive the application for Stroke Accreditation. Manage educational outreach programs, community prevention initiatives, and data abstractions for Get With The Guidelines. Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and regulatory standards while serving as a resource for the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana
- Three (3) years (recent) clinical proficiency in Neuroscience nursing
- 9-11 years relevant work experience
- equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the infant, child, adolescent, young adult, middle adult, and geriatric patient served within the service line
- Ability to assess and interpret data about the patients status in order to identify each patient's age specific needs, and to provide the care needed by the infant, child, adolescent, young adult, middle adult, and geriatric patient groups serviced
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrates knowledge of procedures for protecting and maintaining security, confidentiality and integrity of employee, patient, family, organizational and other medical information
- Understands and supports the commitment of Methodist Hospitals in adhering to federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing ethical business practices for healthcare providers
