Job Summary
Record electrical activity arising from the brain, central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous systems using EEG, NCS, SSEP, BAEP, and VEP. Role requires preparing patients, obtaining medical history, eliciting and recording electrical potentials, and interpreting responses for review by a neurologist. Maintain and troubleshoot neurodiagnostic equipment; perform long-term EEG/video monitoring and transcribe EEG data. Role may include call duties and rotating shift. Requires a relevant degree with two years of healthcare experience and knowledge of neurodiagnostic testing procedures. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and staff, and ability to comprehend data acquisition and computer averaging. Safety and infection control practices must be followed. Management reserves the right to modify duties. Location: Main Campus Jackson, MS. Fulfills full-time (100% FTE) employment and complies with applicable employment laws and equal opportunity policies.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or associate's degree with two years of healthcare experience
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of nervous system functions and practical neurodiagnostic testing; ability to interact with patients and staff; ability to recognize normal/abnormal activity; ability to comprehend data acquisition and EEG-related processes
