Job Summary
Prepare patients for neurophysiologic studies, perform nerve conduction studies, autonomic testing, and QSART, and measure electrical activity using electromyograph instruments. Troubleshoot equipment, ensure procedure rooms are ready, and collect data to organize preliminary reports for physician review. Coach patients through testing protocols, explain procedures, and document vital signs, medical history, and lab specimens. Manage clinic flow by monitoring schedules, resolving patient issues, and handling administrative tasks like billing and prior authorizations. Coordinate communication with patients, families, and referring providers to ensure care follow-up.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Completion and successful graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Neurodiagnostic Technology, or other allied health program
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Neurodiagnostic Technician, or other allied health role
- CPR/BLS certification
- Certification by the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists within the first 18 months of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Completion and successful graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Neurodiagnostic Technology, or other allied health program
- Additional training in EMG and/or Autonomic Testing
- Electromyography (EMG) and/or autonomic testing experience
