Job Summary
Assess and reassess patients, perform initial physical examinations, and formulate diagnoses while collaborating with physicians to manage medical and surgical care. Order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and perform invasive procedures including IV insertion, central line placement, and wound care. Manage emergency situations requiring BLS/ACLS/PALS, assist in surgeries and cardiac catheterizations, and document all patient interactions, orders, and discharge plans in accordance with hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of NP educational program approved by the State of New York
- Current NP certification from either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center
- Bachelors and Masters degrees
- Current New York State license as registered nurse and NP
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse License-NYS
- Nurse Practitioner-NYS
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics may be required based on your selected privileges
