Job Summary
Diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases and disorders of the nervous system while performing a variety of diagnostic measures to manage related conditions. Provide consultant opinions on medical clearance for employees with neurological conditions in arduous or hazardous federal jobs, considering their ability to safely perform duties based on medical history and examination results. Testify in court or at depositions to support prior medical decisions regarding an employee's capacity to perform job duties. Requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school, board certification in Neurology, and two years of clinical practice experience. Required Qualifications
- degree in medicine from a medical or osteopathic school accredited either by the Liaison Committee on medical Education (MD) or the American Osteopathic Association Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (DO)
- Board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Neurology
- licensed physician
- Two years' experience clinical practice specializing in neurology
