Job Summary
Complete all required paperwork, clarify orders, and prepare patients for neurological testing by accurately placing recording electrodes and following established protocols. Perform standard, long-term, or ambulatory EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies, evoked potentials, and intraoperative monitoring under direct supervision. Recognize technically inadequate signals, troubleshoot as needed, and communicate abnormalities to coordinators or neurologists. Maintain equipment, stock supplies, record study data, and assist with report typing and filing. Provide procedure explanations, hygiene assistance, and age-specific support for adult and geriatric patients. Offer technical or administrative coverage in the Neurological Testing Center as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- CPR certified in basic cardiac life support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Some formal Neurodiagnostic training
- Near registry eligibility in respective disciplines (EEG, EMG, IONM, EP, AUTONOMIC, RVT) corresponds with the clinical area of work for the institution
- Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) for EEG
- Registered Nerve Conduction Technologist (R. NCS T.) through the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) OR Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT) through the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM) for EMG
- Prior experience in multiple ENDT modalities
