Job Summary
The role involves conducting neurodevelopmental assessments (autism and ADHD) for children and young people as part of a multidisciplinary team. It is a hybrid position with home working and on-site work at a clinical site in the Oxford area, with occasional travel to West Yorkshire. Responsibilities include parental/carer/interview-led developmental history collection, direct observations (including standardized assessments such as the ADOS-2 or DIVA/Young DIVA), liaison with other professionals, MDT meetings, and diagnostic outcome reporting with individualised formulation. Required qualifications include HCPC registration or another professional qualification in Nursing, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy, plus experience with DSM-5-based autism/ADHD assessments and ADOS training. Strong interpersonal, communication, and IT skills are essential, with a collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team; driving license and access to a vehicle are desirable.
Required Qualifications
- HCPC registration and/or Professional qualification in Nursing, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy
- Experience of autism and/or ADHD assessments in children/young people using DSM-5 diagnostic framework
- ADOS trained
- Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary assessment team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with adults, families and young people in a supportive and empathic way
- Ability to communicate clearly the outcome of assessments
- Ability to communicate effectively as part of a team
- Excellent IT skills
- Experience of using patient record systems to record clinical notes and contacts
