Job Summary
Prepare patients for neurological diagnostic procedures, including EEGs, and perform neurodiagnostic testing in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. Monitor patients during procedures to report significant findings to the supervising clinician and ensure proper setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of neurodiagnostic equipment. Accurately document test results, observations, and patient responses in the medical record while maintaining compliance with infection control, HIPAA, and facility policies. Provide clear explanations and reassurance to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation, and collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff to support high-quality patient care. Travel to partner skilled nursing and long-term care facilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to travel to multiple facilities as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or formal neurodiagnostic training
- Certification as an EEG or Neurodiagnostic Technician (R.EEG T., CNIM, or equivalent)
- Prior experience in neurodiagnostic testing
- Experience working in skilled nursing or long-term care settings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clinical protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with the geriatric population
