Job Summary
Prepare the operating room for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization, navigate nuances of supported surgical procedures, and adapt to emergency situations. Provide clean-up and turnover of the operating room to prepare for the next patient. Rotate call and report within 30 minutes if called for a procedure. This role supports patients through specialized areas including Ortho, Spine, and Neurosurgery at CHI St Vincent North, a regional health network serving Arkansas with a strong neuro and cardiac focus.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing with attendance of the core curriculum for perioperative nursing or equivalent training, upon hire or graduate of an approved surgical technology program (one or two year program)
- One year surgical experience
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
- Must be able to rotate call and report within 30 minutes, if called for a procedure
