Job Summary
Software Security Engineer focusing on DDoS protection within Salesforce's NetSec DDoS team. Responsible for designing, building, and operating DDoS security services across public cloud and on-prem environments; working with partner teams to define short- and long-term security strategies; driving security policy and technology improvements; and collaborating with distributed teams while accommodating occasional travel (domestic and international). Key skills include networking and security engineering, programming in Java/Python/Go/Bash/JSON/Perl, experience with modern log/monitoring stacks (Splunk, ELK, Grafana), and hands-on experience with cloud networking and security controls.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in Software Engineering (Networking & Security)
- 3+ years of experience in networking, security, or DDoS
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Python, Go, Bash, JSON, or Perl
- 3+ years of experience in a high-availability 24/7 environment (cloud platforms are a plus)
- Familiarity with denial-of-service attacks, mitigation strategies, and industry best practices
- Experience with log analysis and monitoring systems such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana
- Hands-on experience designing and maintaining distributed denial-of-service solutions for large-scale networks
- Hands-on experience designing and maintaining public cloud environments, networking, and security controls
- Networking (Security): Network security platforms including ACLs, and DDoS protection
- Proficient in network architecture and design, network security, and network monitoring
